History Of Tukkong Martial Art
Tukkong Martial Art was created in 1978, during the cold war in South Korea. During that time, North Korea had begun practicing a martial art known as Keuk Sool. South Korea’s government felt that they needed a martial art that was more superior than Keuk Sool. But at this time, South Korea’s national sport of Tae Kwon Do was felt to become more of a sport and not practical in military combat situation. Hence a new martial art was needed and this was when Tukkong Martial Art was created.
Tukkong Martial Art was created by the 606th Special Missions Battalion. Following the order of President, masters from 27th Anti-Terrorist Units and Presidential Security Service Unit had come to work together, designed and created this comprehensive combat martial system, Tukkong’s Military and Security martial art.
About Tukkong Martial Art (A Special Combat Attack Method)
Tukkong’s Military and Security martial art was designed to be a superior personal combat system to defeat enemies of South Korea. It does not have a fixed form. It combines the best and strongest techniques from a variety of other disciplines, this include Tae Kwon Do, Ju Do, Hap Ki Do, Aikido, Kung Fu, Tae Kuk Kwan, Dang Rang Kwan, Muay Thai Boxing, Wrestling, Boxing and many others, making itself the most comprehensive and strongest martial art in the world.
Continuous improvement and transformation during instruction in order to be compatible to individual skills level and needs are strongly encouraged. Masters are always encouraged to use their own creativity, improve on this martial art to adapt to new changes, making it more practical and effective in any real combat situations.
Tukkong Martial Art is now practised by the South Korean Presidential Protection Services and military Special Forces. It becomes the standard training program of special guard services for president. It is a military art that is more superior than any other military training in the world and has proven itself by being selected as the preferred training for other special agents around the world.
The increasing threat of terrorism and crime cases voice the needs for a more powerful and efficient martial art that is more relevant for today’s society. Traditional or old martial arts are no longer practical in today’s context. As a result, though Tukkong Martial Art was initially tailored design for special operator units and government agents, it is now also widely practised by civilians who seek for a more reliable and effective martial art for self-protection. Tukkong Martial Art also promotes good health through the articulation of joints, and stretching of muscles with static and ballistic movements.
